Tennessee Wesleyan Women's Soccer Wins 2017 AAC Championship

The TWU Bulldogs defeated Truett McConnell 3-0 to capture their 2nd consecutive AAC Women's Soccer Tournament title. The Bullodgs got on the board early with a corner kick delivered by Lauren Cunningham (Slough, England) that found the head of Nicole Broderick (Kingston, Jamaica) as she delivered it to the corner of the net 5 minutes into the contest.

The Bulldog defense would only allow Truett to take 11 shots with only 3 on goal for the contest. The Bulldogs would add on two goals in the 72nd and 79th minute with Dayna Randall (Chesterfield, England) finding Broderick for her 2nd goal of the game and after a foul, Randall off of the direct put a shot out of the reach of the Truett's keepers grasp that allowed Hannah Dearing (Notre Dame HS) to score the final goal of the contest.

For the tournament, the Bulldogs held all opponents scoreless. McKenna Loges (Dandridge, TN) was in goal for all 3 contests and has recorded 6 consecutive clean sheets and 9 on the season.

On Thursday, Emiley Saddler (East Hamilton) was named to the All-Conference team and Hannah Dearing, Samantha Green (Hixson), & Karla Martinez ((Hixson) were awarded All-Academic Team. 

TWU Bulldogs (13-4-2) will now advance to the NAIA National Tournanment.
