George “Mac” Trammell McArthur

George “Mac” Trammell McArthur, 72, of Dalton, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Hamilton Medical Center. 

He was the son of the late Frank and Jewel Price McArthur and was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kaye Hindman McArthur in 2002. 

George was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, served in Vietnam and was very active with the VFW. He was a loyal member and secretary of the Dalton Elks Lodge #1267. 

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Lacee McArthur; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheri and Keith Payne and Synthia and Jacolby Pratt, all of Dalton; grandchildren, Mali Payne, Maryn Payne, McCall Payne, Mac Payne, Caleb Pratt, Brody Pratt, Finley Pratt, Savana Ballard, Ellie McArthur and Gage McArthur; sister, Frankie Bryant of Auburn, Ca.; and nieces and nephews. 

Services will be on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. William “Oogie” Roberts officiating. 

Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Monday from 12-2 p.m. 

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 4 p.m. at The Dalton Elks Lodge. 

The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the Dalton Elks Lodge # 1267, 1212 Elkwood Drive, Dalton Ga. 30720.
