Sequatchie Concrete Announces Agreement to Purchase Cleveland Ready Mix

Sequatchie Concrete Service, Inc., has reached an agreement to purchase Cleveland Ready Mix in Cleveland. CRM fits between the major metropolitan operations of Sequatchie in Chattanooga and Knoxville.

Jesse Slaton, president of Sequatchie Concrete, said, “This exciting move strengthens our ability to serve our customers along the I-75 corridor with additional plant locations in Cleveland and Calhoun. We look forward to adding their people, experience and history to the Sequatchie brand.” 

Under the ownership of the late Claude Simpson, CRM has served area customers in Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Polk and Hamilton Counties for over 50 years. Mr. Simpson had relationships with Reece Thomas and David Thomas of Sequatchie which paved the way for the eventual combination of the companies. 

Sequatchie Concrete Service, Inc. was founded in 1954 by Robert Thomas and is based in South Pittsburg.
