A man was injured during a shootout on Highway 58 late Saturday night.
Chattanooga Police said an off-duty Chattanooga State police officer fired a shot during the incident.
Police responded at 11:05 p.m. to the 4400 block of Highway 58 on a shots fired call.
Upon arrival, Chattanooga Police officers spoke with the off-duty Chattanooga State officer, who was working a security job in the area. He said he saw someone shooting at an occupied vehicle on the lot.
The Chattanooga State officer said he fired at the suspect.
Police said an injured person arrived at a local hospital by personal vehicle with a gunshot wound.
The person's injuries are considered non-life threatening.
The injured person told police that multiple people in a passing vehicle shot at him while in the parking lot in the 4400 block of Highway 58 and he returned fire.

Police did not release the name of the person who was shot due to "safety concerns."
