Hixson's Karla Martinez Helps Tennessee Wesleyan Win AAC Soccer Semifinal

Hixson's Karla Martinez helped the Tennessee Wesleyan women's soccer team win 4-0 over visiting Milligan College in the semifinals of the AAC tournament on Tuesday. TWU (12-4-2) tied Milligan during the season. 

Chloe Rootes (Kempsey, Australia), assisted Nicole Broderick (Kingston, Jamaica) at the 37:39 mark for the first goal.

In the second half (70:37) Emiley Saddler (East Hamilton HS- All-Region) assisted Rootes for the 2-0 lead. Lauren Cunningham (Slough, England) and Martinez (Hixson HS) finished out the scoring for the 4-0 win. 

TWU has outscored their opponents 24-0 in their last four games.

Other locals contributing to the win were Samantha Green (Hixson) and Hannah Dearing (Notre Dame).

The Lady Bulldogs advance to the finals playing at home on Friday against Truett McConnell.
