On the  strength of placing six wrestlers in Saturday morning’s semifinals the host Blue Tornado is in first place in the McCallie Wrestling Invitational with 110.5 points followed by Woodland in second with 99.5 points and Soddy Daisy (93) in third in the 35 team field

North Hall (82) is fourth and Sonoraville (81.5) is fifth) – brackets and all results are updated throughout the day.  Matches for first, third and fifth places start at 3:30 p.m.

Championship Semis 11 a.m.

 McCallie’s six semifinalists are Jack Braman (106), Emory Taylor (113), Alex Whitworth (126), Thomas Sell (170), Walker Robinson (195), River Henry (295) along with four wrestlers in the consolations.

Woodland’s three wrestlers in the semis are Caden McCrary (113), Kyle Gollhofer120) and Cody Cochran (160) along with seven wrestlers in the consolations

GPS Rower Invited To US Rowing National Camp

Man Killed, Passenger Seriously Injured; Driver Of Other Vehicle Hurt In Accident On Suck Creek Road Saturday Morning

A Jury For 2nd Time Convicts Randall Reed Of Murdering 70-Year-Old Woman In 2011

A jury for the second time has convicted Randall Reed of first-degree murder in the 2011 death of 70-year-old Jane Stokes in East Ridge. The verdict was returned in the courtroom of Judge Tom Greenholtz’s on Friday. The earlier verdict had been thrown out by an appeals court. Reed testified in his own behalf.
