  • Monday, December 4, 2017

A developer is proposing 255 apartment units for a 14-acre site at 7608 Shallowford Road in East Brainerd.

The site is on the south side of Shallowford Road approximately 500 feet west of Guinevere Parkway.

There will also be surface parking and a clubhouse with amenities.

The application for R-3 Zoning is from Southeast Real Estate Acquisitions of the Tennessee District Council of the Assemblies of God.

The entrance would be on Shallowford Road.

It would be a three-story apartment surrounded by surface parking, set back from property lines and Shallowford Road.

The proposed density is approximately 18.2 dwelling units per acre.

In a second project, Fickling & Company, Inc. is proposing 250 garden-style apartments on 19 acres at 6038 Hixson Pike.

The site is located on the southeast side of Hixson Pike, to the north of Ridgeview Circle and to the west of Fairview Road.

Access would be from Hixson Pike.

The Regional Planning Agency staff is recommending deferral for both projects in order for a traffic study to be completed.

They come before the Planning Commission on Monday at 1 p.m. at the County Courthouse.
