Sara Guffee
Sara Joan Hurt Guffee, 84, of East Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Ward Mayes and Verby Sims Hurt. Sara was a devoted mother and wife who always thought of others before herself.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack William Guffee.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Karen Guffee, Kathy Guffee, and Nina Oxford, brothers, Jerry and Byrus Hurt, granddaughter, Julie Hawk, great-granddaughter Chloe Jade Walston, and extended families. Her best friend, Jan Allison and sons Robert Waller, and Richard Waller were like family to Sara.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Dr. B. Eric Rieger officiating. Interment will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
