East Ridge High School Alumnus Was A Retired U.S. Army Drill Sergeant

Mark Anthony McGuire, Jr., 38, of East Ridge, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at his home. 

He was born Oct. 21, 1978, in Lewisburg, Tn. Mark was a 1997 graduate of East Ridge High School.  He was a retired United States Army veteran where he served as a drill sergeant. 

His father the Rev. Mark McGuire, Sr. preceded him in death. 

 

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Thompson McGuire; daughter, Savannah McGuire; grandson, Maverick McGuire, all of East Ridge; mother, Regena McGuire of Rossville; sisters, Mary (Erica) McGuire of East Ridge, and Christian Mitchem of Pikeville; and several nieces and nephews. 

 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday, March 1, from 12-1 p.m. at the funeral home. 

 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with his sister, Mary McGuire officiating. 

 

Interment with full military honors will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
