James Alan Sheppard, 50, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on March 17, 2017, after an 18-month fight of encouragement with strength up to the end, against a rare bladder cancer.

Jim spent his career in the hospitality industry and his weekends enjoying golf, hanging with his friends, and most of all playing with his two beautiful girls.

He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Janel Sheppard, two daughters, Sadie (12) and Olivia Sheppard (6), son, Ryan Sheppard (21), parents, Richard and Elizabeth Sheppard, grandmother-in-law, Elizabeth Williams, mother-in-law, Lynn Laminack, father and mother-in-law, Dennis (Janet) Morgan, sister, Alison (Barrett Rinzler) Sheppard, brothers, Richard (Barb) Sheppard, Dave (Kimberly) Sheppard, brothers-in-law, Michael (Amanda) Morgan, Mick Thomason, Jared (Katie) Morgan, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 20, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Angel officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
