DecoTurf Prep Tennis Tourney is Today and Saturday

Baylor Girls Are Defending A Division Champs

The award-winning, and nationally-recognized DecoTurf High School Tennis Team Championship is in Chattanooga today and Saturday with 64 teams from 13 states spread over two girls divisions and three boys divisions.

The tournament will be played at the Champions Club, Baylor, GPS, McCallie and Brainerd.

Girls A: Defending champion Baylor and No.2 seed and 2015 champ Walton (Ga.) lead the way in this division. Baylor has its opening match at 10 a.m. at Baylor, while GPS plays at 10 at Champions.

Girls B: The top three finishers from 2016 are back – defending B champs Milton, followed by Tennsesee High and Starr’s Mill. Soddy Daisy has its first match at 10 a.m. at GPS.

Boys’ A: The Boys A Division features a loaded field with eight defending state champions and three former tournament champions. The top overall seed is Spartanburg, defending Boys A Division Champion and South Carolina Class 4A State Champions

 The second overall seed is defending Georgia Class 6A State Champion Northview while the third seed is defending Kentucky state champs Saint Xavier. Baylor School is also in the A Division and has an opening match at 8:30 a.m. at Champions

Boys’ B: The Boys B Division is led by Georgia powerhouse Etowah, followed by second seed Milton  and third seed Georgia Class 4A state finalist Carrollton.

Boys’ C: The Boys C Division is led by top seed and defending Boys C Division Champions George Washington. The second seed is DuPont Manual.
