Rodney Aaron Nelson, 40, of Cartersville, Georgia, died on Friday April 21, 2017 at the local hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Rodney was born on January 12, 1977 in Holden, WV to Rodney Paul Nelson and Melodie Dawn Dempsey Nelson.
He is survived by his wife Christina Smith of Dalton; sons, Austin Blake Nelson of Logan, WV, Brycen Tye Nelson of Garrettsbend, WV and Brendan Carter Nelson of Dalton; his mother, Melodie Nelson of Cartersville; father and step-mother, Rodney Paul and Tina Nelson of Kentucky; brothers, Jeremy Heath Nelson (Regina Mitchell) of Logan, WV, Christopher Chase Nelson of Cartersville, GA and Joshua Nelson of KY; maternal grandparents, Della and Harrison Runyon of McConnell, WV; and an aunt Crystal Singleton (Shane York)of Charleston, WV.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements will be announced by Ponders Melrose Chapel.
