Jakob Davis
Jakob Ryan Davis, 21, of Ocoee, died on Friday, June 2, 2017 in a local hospital.
He was born October 27, 1995. Jakob was a wonderful young person that loved life, family and his friends. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He loved his Jeep and anything about Jeeps. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Jakob attended and graduated in 2015 from Polk County High School. He was a member of the football team and played baseball earlier in his life. He attended Blue Ridge Temple Baptist Church. He has been employed at McKee Foods in Collegedale for the past two years.
Jakob was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Fred Davis, his father, Chris Davis, and his favorite dog, Apollo.
He is survived by his mother, Sherry Askew; his second father, Joe Askew; his brother, Waylon Davis all of Ocoee; brother, Luke Davis of Decatur; maternal grandparents, Alfred and Pat Casson of Ocoee; paternal grandmother, Peggy Davis of Calhoun, TN; three aunts, Lisa (Jason) White of Ocoee, Holly (Terry) Watson of Riceville, Lorrie (Clarence) Gruber of Jacksonville, FL; two uncles, Danny (Rita) Casson of Ocoee, and Scott (Shantell) Davis of Calhoun, TN; several cousins, Blake and McKaylee Cross, Amber White all of Ocoee, Brandon (Tiffany) Casson, Garrett and Ciara Casson of Loudon, Dustin Davis, Jordan Campbell, Madison Watson. He leaves his girlfriend, Marissa and “the boys” Tyson and Jackson; and many members of his extended family and a host of wonderful friends and co-workers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 8, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with Waylon Davis, Morgan Wilson, Joey Payne, Jordan Bennett, Steven Cordell, Jordan Campbell, and Luke Davis serving as pallbearers. A host of Jakob’s friends will serve as honorary pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
