Robert Freeman
Robert “Shorty” Sheridan Freeman, 77, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017.
A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, and he was of the Baptist faith. He was a former employee of the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for 22 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Sheridan Freeman Sr. and Minnie Elizabeth Jenkins Freeman; three brothers, Willard Freeman Jr., Richard Freeman, and Rupert Freeman; and two sisters, Ruby Freeman and Evelyn Haire.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wanda Freeman of Ringgold; three children, Pam (Gary) Lane of Soddy Daisy, Paula (Danny) Forgey of Chattanooga, and Jason Robert Freeman of Ringgold; sister, Ruth Love of Ringgold; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Ringgold.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold.
