Mavis Huskey
Mavis Sims Huskey, 87, of Chickamauga, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 in a local healthcare facility.
She was born March 12, 1930 in Moulton, Alabama to the late James E. & Cordella Price Sims.
Mrs. Huskey graduated from Tennessee Temple College in the early 1950’s.
She was a member of Hamilton Baptist Church and attended Alliance Church.
She and her late husband William Clifford Huskey were retired Missionaries with Baptist International Missions, Inc. (BIMI)
Mrs. Huskey was preceded in death by three brothers, Tommy Sims, J. D. Sims, and Rev. Deen Sims
Survivors include her daughter, Regina (Phillip) Stuart of Chickamauga; son, John (Shannon) Huskey of Dunlap; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will begin in the East Brainerd Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Ray Thompson and Rev. Virgil Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
