Letter Carrier For The U.S. Postal Service For Many Years

Robert Edward “Bob” Meador, 92, of East Ridge, Tennessee passed away at a local nursing home.

Bob was a veteran of World War II having served his country in the United States Navy. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Brainerd United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. Bob retired from the United Postal Service where he was a letter carrier for a many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 95 as well as a member of the Good Samaritan Club, NALC Branch 62.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Peggy Meador, and his parents, Robert and Daisy Meador.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Linda Timmons, and granddaughters, Lisa (Brad) Haven and Julia (Jason) Barnes.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, July 28, at 11:30 a.m.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Interment will be in the Chattanooga National cemetery at 1 p.m. on Friday with full military honors.
