The Mockery Of Our Nation - And Response (2)

  • Friday, July 28, 2017

Okay, so at this point can everyone finally agree that nothing about this whole bit of mess, that is masquerading as the United States government, is functional at all?

There has been no legislation passed. No policies. Nothing at all. Nobody in the White House apparently knows how government is supposed to work. Did any of these people ever take a Civics class? Obviously not.

Executive Orders are not laws and legislation. Tweets are not laws nor policy nor legislation.  Wanting our healthcare system to fail is horrendous. The pure, unadulterated and outright seething racism, bigotry, misogyny, sexism, etc., is debilitating the nation.

We are the laughing stock of the world and nobody is to blame except for the ones that voted for this pure disaster of epic and biblical proportions. It's only going to get worse. Unless we get blown off the face of the Earth first.

"The pure, unadulterated and outright seething racism, bigotry, misogyny, sexism, etc., is debilitating the nation."

The left has thrown these words around for 8 1/2 years, so long in fact that in today's lingo they mean zero.  Our Congress is the mess, the log jam; the career politicians are afraid to blink because no matter what the cause/policy/disaster they don't want to lose their cushy job with all the perks that go along with it.

There are but a handful in DC today that could care less about losing their jobs, they just want to make America Great Again.  They don't even draw a salary, they pledge it to charity.  Most likely they'll be hard at it working for America while our Congressional members are off on their "breaks".

The President today is not a politician, he's an American.

Richard Smith writes, "The pure, unadulterated and outright seething racism, bigotry, misogyny, sexism, etc., is debilitating the nation."

Sue White says the words have no meaning anymore because they are used daily. Words do not lose their meaning due to over use, as you said. They have no meaning to those individuals who refuse to understand the depth and significance of these words.

Richard Smith is absolutely correct in every word of his letter.  America is the laughing stock of the world.  We have an inexperienced, emotionally immature man.  You say, Trump is not a politician. I consulted a dictionary for the meaning of politician. The first meaning certainly did not describe Trump, however the second meaning was on the mark.

pol·i·ti·cian
1.    A person who is professionally involved in politics, especially as a holder of or a candidate for an elected office.

2. A person who acts in a manipulative and devious way, typically to gain advancement within an organization.

You say the president is an American, which simply means that he is a native or citizen of the United States.  There are no inherent qualities or virtues associated with the word American. We, the citizens of America, assign the virtues and qualities of what it means to be an American.  Many of us, as Americans aspire to equality, kindness, fairness, respect for all people, just to mention a very few. Some Americans do not hold those same opinions.

It also appears that Donald Trump does not aspire to the same virtues and qualities. This opinion does not evolve from “fake News “or the lame stream media; they come directly from his own lips and tweets.

Bravo to the president for contributing his salary to charity. He is not the first President to do so.
