Street Closings Announced For The Weekend

Here are special event street closings for the weekend:

Friday:

Nightfall Concert Series:  Closures include Market from 10th St.
to 8th St., MLK Blvd. from Broad St. to Georgia Ave. from 5:30 pm to 11:59 pm. The Nightfall Concert Series is free to the public and held each Friday outdoors in Miller Plaza. This Friday's headliner is KP & The Boom Boom with local opener Sistren beginning at 7pm

Saturday:

The Cam Run: No road closures for this event, but motorists are advised that runners will be on Moccasin Bend Rd. between Hamm Rd. and the treatment center from 8am to 9am. This race is in memory of runner Cameron Bean and funds raised benefit The Cameron Bean Memorial Fund, a group committed to promoting and fostering the growth of amateur running in and around the Chattanooga area through running programs, races, camps, clinics and safety advocacy groups. Volkswagen River Gorge Omnium: There will be various closures around the following streets from 10am to 10:30pm: between Broad and Market; MLK, 10th Street, 11th Street, 12th Street. Criterium racing returns to the streets of downtown Chattanooga with live streamed racing under the lights. A spectator friendly course with food/beverage vendors, restaurants, beer gardens and special events make this an event to remember. Visit www.rivergorgeomnium.com for more information.

2017 Southern Brewers Festival: Riverfront Pkwy from Aquarium to the Riverfront Parking lot entrance, Chestnut from Aquarium to Riverfront. Ramp onto Riverfront Pkwy. from Georgia Ave. will be closed. Set up begins Friday the 25th at 9am, streets open Sunday the 27th at 12pm. With beer from over 30 breweries, live music from 2pm-10pm, this is a beer festival not to be missed. Visit www.southernbrewersfestival.com for more information.

Missionary Ridge Block Party: South Crest Rd. will be closed between Sheridan Rd. and Ridge Rd. from 3pm to 9pm for this neighborhood block party. Detours will be posted throughout the area.  

Sunday:

Chattanooga Market 2017: Reggie White Blvd. will be closed from the entrance to the Chattanooga Skate Park to West 19th Street on Sunday, August 27th from 6am to 8pm. Chattanooga Market is the region’s largest producer-only marketplace, established to provide healthy, fresh produce, artisan foods, as well as locally-produced arts and craft wares to Chattanoogans and community visitors. The Salvation Army To Deliver Thanksgiving Meals To Area Shut-Ins

The Salvation Army has identified more than 500 low-income seniors who would not otherwise have a Thanksgiving meal and are homebound. As a result of our generous community, these seniors will enjoy a Thanksgiving meal of turkey, potatoes, green beans, dressing, cranberry sauce, a roll and pie. Chickamauga Christmas In The Streets And Music Melodies Parade Is Dec. 9

Chickamauga Christmas in the Streets will be held in Historical Chickamauga on Dec. 9 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. All craft and food vendors will be open for sales at 10 a.m. on Gordon, Thomas and Tenth Streets. City Council Votes On 1st Reading To Lower Rain Retention Requirement In South Chickamauga Creek Basin
