Springer Mountain Farms Southern Wing Showdown produced by Taste of Atlanta crowned the ‘Best Wing in the Southeast’ at their annual event this past Sunday. Charlie Loomis from The FEED Co. Table & Tavern in Chattanooga, took home the top honor which included the ‘Best Wing’ Trophy, a trip to the World Food Championships in Orange Beach, Ala. this November and of course bragging rights.
His wing dubbed the Buffalo ‘Hoff’ Wing wowed judges and guests alike. The fan favorite was fried and tossed in Hoff and pepper buffalo sauce and topped with bleu cheese dressing. This was the first win for Mr. Loomis at the event. It was also the first win for Chattanooga-based restaurant.
Honorable mentions were given out to Archna Becker of Bhojanic in Atlanta, Ga. and Todd Richards of Richards’ Southern Fried in Atlanta, Ga.
