Lonnie Oliver
Lonnie Daniel Oliver, 66, of Chickamauga, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017.
He was born in Stevenson, Al., to the late John and Lula Oliver and had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas since the 1970’s. He was employed with Wheeland Foundry as a Maintenance Technician for more than 31 years and was of the Baptist faith. Lonnie loved working on cars and playing his guitar. He was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Jason Oliver; two brothers, Charles and Neil Oliver and two sisters, Gladys Foshee and Minnie Green.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Gattis of Fort Oglethorpe; children and spouses, Tim and Darlene Younce of Chattanooga, Steven and Dawn Younce of Flintstone, Tommy and Rachel Younce of Chickamauga, Tina and Dennis Ransom of Fort Oglethorpe, and Wendy Jackson of Chickamauga; brother, Howard Oliver of Chattanooga; sisters, Katherine Peacock of Jasper, Tn., Eleanor Summers of Stevenson, Faye Hollingsworth and Jean and Ed McLemore all of Fackler, Al.; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; caretaker, Trent Jackson and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3, in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday and prior to leaving for the graveside service on Sunday.
