Liz Lyles Of Reno, Nev., Claims Victory At Chattanooga Ironman Trianthlon

Chattanooga provided a beautiful backdrop for athletes from around the world today at the 2017 Little Debbie IRONMAN Chattanooga triathlon presented by McKee A Family Bakery. Liz Lyles (USA) took the top honors with a finishing time of 9:05:33. Lyles took the title after a dominating performance, finishing over twenty minutes ahead of Kim Schwabenbauer (USA), who claimed a second place finish with a time of 9:28:46.
Jessica Donavan (USA) rounded out the podium in third place with a time of 9:31:49.

The 2017 Little Debbie IRONMAN Chattanooga presented by McKee A Family Bakery triathlon saw more than 2,100 athletes representing 37 countries and 48 states start the race. Competitors ranged in age from 18–80 years old. One of more than 40 events in the global IRONMAN Series, the IRONMAN Chattanooga triathlon led athletes along a 2.4-mile swim, 116-mile bike and 26.2-mile run throughout Chattanooga presented by McKee A Family Bakery and its surrounding areas. The swim takes place in the Tennessee River, while the two-loop bike course winds through North Georgia with scenic farmland and mountain views. Athletes then enjoy a two-loop run course that showcases beautiful downtown Chattanooga, The Tennessee Riverwalk and Riverfront Parkway. The event offers a total professional woman prize purse of $40,000 and 40 coveted age-group qualifying slots to the 2018 IRONMAN World Championship, taking place on October 13 in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i.
