Old Fashioned Bluegrass Music Picking Honoring Newell Angel Is Oct. 7

  • Saturday, September 30, 2017

An Old Fashioned Bluegrass Music Picking to celebrate the life of Newell Angel (who passed away on Sept. 12) will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department Training Center at 9100 Snow Hill Road in Ooltewah. It will begin at 3 p.m. and last until around 5 p.m.

The public is invited to hear music, sing, pick a tune, or say a few words in honor of Mr. Angel.

"Newell had a deep love for music and we felt it would please him to be honored with an old fashioned picking," said Ronnie Nichols.  "We will allow anyone who wishes to participate to do so."

Some of those already scheduled to speak or play are Johnnie Wooten, Ed James, Ed Allison, Hymie Madaris, and Larry Edmons.  To participate, show up at 3 p.m. and organizers will get you on the schedule.

The regular monthly Snow Hill Bluegrass Show will follow this tribute starting at 6 p.m.
