Geneva Romine Petty, age 84, of Knollwood Circle, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, morning in a Rome hospital.
A native of Calhoun, Ga., she was born to the late Thomas Levi and Willie Mae Bynum on Nov. 16, 1933. Mrs. Petty was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Jerry Nathan Petty, on Jan. 3, 2012.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Cecelia Gail and Daniel Ford; sons and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Shelly Petty and Thomas Petty; granddaughter, Kathie Ford; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Sluder and Hazel McCord; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Minister Hugh Glaze officiating, interment in Berryton Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Nathan Petty, Thomas Petty, Daniel Ford, Andrew Leonard, Doug Sluder, and Steve Lee.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
