Betty Stansifer
Betty Jean Stansifer, 88, of Flintstone, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018, at her home.
She was a member of Flintstone Baptist Church where she served as church pianist for over 20 years. Betty taught piano lessons in her home for 25 years. She had also worked for the Hamilton County Board of Education for about 15 years. She was a graduate of Tyner High School and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Rossville.
She was preceded in tdeath by her parents, Leon and Edith Standefer; her husband, Charles Stansifer; sister, Bobbie Sue Grant and a son-in-law, Ronnie Stout.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Stout of Flintstone, and Brenda (Mike) Fuhrman of Bolivar, Mo.; one sister, Polly Ann O’Neal of Huntersville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Sarah Stout, Megan (Bob) Gelband, Philip (Rachel) Furman, Jennifer (Garner) McGregor; three great-grandsons, Josiah, Elias and Abishai; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
