26th Annual World Championship Drag Boat Race In Marion County Set For Oct. 13-14

  • Monday, October 8, 2018
The Outboard Drag Boat Association (ODBA) will host the 26th annual World Championship Drag Boat Race at Marion County Park on the Nickajack River in Jasper, on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 13 and 14.
This event is co-sponsored by the Greater Jasper Jaycees. The profit goes to the JC's Underprivileged Kids Christmas Fund. Gate fee is $8 each day, kids under 12 free, and gates open at 9 a.m. (racing from 11 a.m. till dusk).  Friday time trials can be viewed at no charge.

This race hosts close to 100 boats each year from across the country, as well as Canada.  Drag boats of this caliber exceed 110 MPH on an 800 foot course.  A $12,000 Pro Purse is up for grabs among the drivers, this event being the last of the Triple Crown Pro Purse for the 2018 season.  ODBA co-sponsors this annual event with the Jasper Jaycees, as the JC's strive to help many children in the Marion County area.
