Field Expected To Be Crowded To Replace Kevin Brooks In State House

The field is expected to be crowded to replace Rep. Kevin Brooks in the state House.

County Commissioner Mark Hall was the first to pick up qualifying papers for House District 24 and he is an official candidate.

He has since been joined in the Republican primary by Alan Ledford.

Others picking up include Garry D. Moore and Bruce Schrock.

Cleveland attorney G. Scott Kanavos has picked up papers for the Democratic primary.

Rep. Brooks is in the Cleveland mayor's race and has the endorsement of longtime Mayor Tom Rowland.

But he may have opposition. Duane Schriver has picked up papers for the mayor's race.

Larry D'Agata has picked up for Cleveland council-at-large.

The election will be in August.

 



Candidate For County Commission District 5 Lives In District 7; Campaign Manager Says Geter Plans To Move Into District 5

Deere, Wright Withdraw From County Races

Two candidates have withdrawn from the upcoming county elections after qualifying earlier. Attorney Timothy Deere will not be running as a Democratic candidate for Circuit Court judge, Division IV. CCS Boys Advance To Division II-A Elite Eight

CCS used a big second quarter to open up a 10 point lead over USJ Wednesday night in their Division II-A state tournament opener at The Webb School.   The Chargers then outscored USJ 13-4 in the third quarter and went on to win 53-36.
