Field Expected To Be Crowded To Replace Kevin Brooks In State House

The field is expected to be crowded to replace Rep. Kevin Brooks in the state House.

County Commissioner Mark Hall was the first to pick up qualifying papers for House District 24 and he is an official candidate.

He has since been joined in the Republican primary by Alan Ledford.

Others picking up include Garry D. Moore and Bruce Schrock.

Cleveland attorney G. Scott Kanavos has picked up papers for the Democratic primary.

Rep. Brooks is in the Cleveland mayor's race and has the endorsement of longtime Mayor Tom Rowland.

But he may have opposition. Duane Schriver has picked up papers for the mayor's race.

Larry D'Agata has picked up for Cleveland council-at-large.

The election will be in August.
