  • Tuesday, February 27, 2018

Sale Creek fire officials reported a home was destroyed by fire Tuesday night.

Around 8:30 p.m., a motorist called 911 reporting a fire at 4122 Retro Hughes Road.

The Sale Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded and arrived on the scene confirming a fully-involved house fire with total roof collapse. Due to the instability of the structure, firefighters conducted a “defensive attack” on the fire to extinguish it quickly.

Sale Creek fire officials reported the homeowner was not home when the fire broke out. The homeowner did lose a dog in the fire.

The house is a total loss. Damages are unknown at this time.

No injuries were reported, but HCEMS was on the scene for any potential injuries to the first responders.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
