James Heard
James Frank Heard, 77, passed away on February 27, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by family.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Alladen amd Lizzie Mae Heard; sisters, Katie James, Hattie Miller, and Helen White; daughters, Jacqueline, Debra, Angela Heard and Sherry Dixon.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gwendolyn Heard; daughters, Annette (Eddie) Choice and Jerri (James) Wade; sisters, Doris Dees, Francis Lee, Elaine Few and Patricia Lewis; sister-in-law, Marion Davis; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, March 5, at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church.
The body will lie in state after noon, and the family will receive friends from 6–8 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
