Cowart Street Site Where 7-Story Apartment Complex Was Approved Is Sold For $2,750,000

  • Thursday, March 29, 2018

A narrow block-long property on Cowart Street where rezoning was earlier approved for a seven-story apartment complex has been sold for $2,750,000.

Former City Councilman Chris Anderson had pushed for the rezoning, though a number of Southside residents were opposed.

The Knoxville developer who was planning the project eventually backed out on the deal.

Commercial realtor Kevin Boehm bought the site with his partners for $700,000 on Nov.

11, 2014. He bought it in the name of BYD-Cowart, which includes investors David Yann and Ryan Dillard.

That group sold it in 2016 to Legends Southside LLC. Anthony Marrs is vice president of Legends.

Legends has now sold it to Lq Cowart Llc.

The site, which is behind the former Porkers BBQ, is currently in use as a surface parking lot.
