Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C. announced Tuesday the promotion of two team members. Lindsay Cast now serves as a paralegal in the firm's estate and tax group, and Bruce Launey became a paralegal in the labor and employment group.
"We are fortunate to have Lindsay on our estate planning team," said Greg Willett, tax and estate section chair and shareholder at Chambliss. "Not only does she bring additional depth to the practice, she also shares our sharp attention to detail when working with clients on such personal matters."
Ms. Cast joined the firm in June 2015 to assist in the tax and estate department. She works closely with the members of the department on various matters related to estate and trust planning and trust administration. In her new role, she will assist the tax and estate team with identifying client needs, implementing customized estate plans and administering trusts and estates. Ms. Cast is pursuing her master of business administration degree at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) and is involved in the UTC Graduate Student Association. She is originally from California and earned two bachelor degrees from the University of California at Berkeley. Before coming to Chambliss, Ms. Cast participated in Teach for America and was named Teacher of the Year for 2013-2014. She previously served as an emerging leader for the United Way of Greater Chattanooga.
“Bruce has an impressive breadth of knowledge in labor and employment litigation, including electronic discovery issues,” said Rosemarie Hill, labor and employment section chair and shareholder at Chambliss. “He is smart, experienced, and a huge asset to the team.”
Mr. Launey came to Chambliss at the beginning of 2017 to assist the litigation and risk management section with complex litigation and personal injury matters. In his transition to the labor and employment practice, he will utilize his more than 12 years' experience as an employment paralegal in Atlanta. At his past firm, Mr. Launey administered a helpline for local government clients seeking employment law advice on a wide range of issues, such as wage and hour questions, FMLA and ADA compliance, best practices for avoiding discrimination claims, employee discipline and personnel policy reviews. Mr. Launey received his bachelor degree in mathematics from Georgia State University and worked for a few years as a student teacher for Atlanta Public Schools.
