Charlotte Mae Hade Becker, 85, passed away suddenly on July 17, 2018.

Born May 10, 1933, in Waynesboro, Pa., she made her home in the Greater Chattanooga area for the past five years.

She was a beloved wife, loving mother, diligent homemaker and a master teacher. Her life was lived with faithfulness, service, hospitality, love for God and family.

After raising six children, she worked in and taught at schools for 28 years, becoming a teacher at age 45. Her teaching career took her to Delaware, Tennessee, Georgia, Wisconsin and Maryland. She was fully committed to Christian education, and was a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, serving in many capacities, such as teaching in children’s divisions, Community Service and Religious Liberty.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Daniel A. Becker; parents, Roy C. and Mabel F. Hade; sister, Lolitta Hade; brother, Victor Hade; brother, Donald “Lee” Hade; and grandson, Jonathan Arner.

She is survived by her six children, Cheryl Arner, Dennis (Debbie) Becker, Karen (John Jelen) Ryder, Cindy (Chester) Schurch, Kevin Becker, and Janet Accardo; eight grandchildren, Justin Arner, Jennifer Stuckey, Tim (Brittany) Ryder, Byron (Aton) Schurch, Angela Schurch, Christopher Schurch, Jessica Accardo and Kaitlyn Accardo; four great-grandchildren, Zane Ryder, Baby Girl Ryder, Lucas Cathey, and Andrew Cathey; one brother, Richard Hade; one sister, Jeanetta Seek; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, at the Apison SDA Church, 11421 Bates Road, Apison, Tn. 37302 with Pastor Chester Schurch officiating. Interment will be at Collegedale Memorial Gardens, Collegedale, Tn. 37315.

Floral arrangements are welcome, or a memorial donation may be given to the Worthy Student Fund of the Georgia-Cumberland Conference (www.gccsda.com) in honor of Charlotte M. Becker.
