The 911 Communications Center in Cleveland received a call on Saturday at 8:20 a.m., from the Chattanooga Police Department stating that a City of Chattanooga vehicle was stolen from its Public Works department. The city vehicle was tracked by GPS and a possible location was reported.
Contact was made with the City of Chattanooga stolen public works vehicle in front of 3230 Fulbright Road #6, Cleveland. Contact was made with Evan Elmore as he exited the rear door of apartment 6.
Elmore was detained. During a pat down, a bag of a green leafy substance, believed to be marijuana was discovered in his front right pocket.
Elmore was transported to the Bradley County Justice Center where he was booked on a simple possession charge.
The stolen Public Works vehicle was released to the Chattanooga Police Department.
Charges are pending in Chattanooga for theft of an auto and burglary of a business.
