Vote What's Good For Tennessee

  • Thursday, August 16, 2018

Last month when Vice President Pence spoke at Lee University a Lee student wrote a wordy post in Chattanoogan.com expressing her outrage that he was allowed to speak there. Now as US Senate candidate Phil Bredesen is about to speak at Lee no one has ranted against his right to speak there. On the contrary, we should welcome him speaking because he owes the people of Tennessee some honest answers to important questions:

Does Bredesen think the rule of law applies equally to all American citizens? Does he believe in open borders and non-citizens voting in our elections? A large number in his party do. Is he in favor of building a wall at the Mexican Border? Many in his party don’t. Does he favor socialism over capitalism? The majority of his party did in a recent Gallop poll. And does he favor eliminating ICE? Many in his party have said they do as well.

If the ex-governor gives his consultant-prepared phrase, “if it’s good for Tennessee, I’ll vote for it,” those are just tired old politician words and that’s not good for Tennessee.

In spite of the lines he reads in his expensive commercials, reminding us how he performed as governor, that won’t matter in the senate. In the senate Chuck Schumer and others in his party will be breathing down his neck expecting him to “resist.” And that’s not good for Tennessee either.

If you don’t believe Phil Bredesen will really do what’s best for Tennessee then vote for U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn. Send a clear message to an ever growing Socialist Democrat Party that what is good for Tennessee is to continue what his party can’t deliver: a robust national economy, lower taxes, Supreme Court justices who follow the constitution and a strong nation with border security and safety for now and for our children and grandchildren.
