Lula Lake Land Trust Announces Departure Of Executive Director Michael Pollock

  • Thursday, September 27, 2018

Lula Lake Land Trust Executive Director Michael Pollock is stepping down from the position after 3 1/2 years of service.

Mr. Pollock plans to revive two businesses that were set aside during his term as executive director and to entertain other business ventures.

Brad Cobb, chairman of the board and supervisor to Mr. Pollock said, “Mike’s time at Lula Lake dates back to 2006 when he joined the board and he plans to continue as a Trustee when the transition is complete.”

In his relatively short time as executive director, Mr. Pollock oversaw four successive record fundraising years, managed the acquisition of 400+/- acres of land, managed the completion of the Chattanooga Connector Trail and Moonshine Trails project, and ushered in a new era of public access to the Lula Lake Core Preserve.

Speaking about his departure, Mr. Pollock said, “At the outset of my term, Brad and I both talked about a three to five year commitment as being, potentially, healthy for the organization. We have great momentum right now and my aim is to keep our focus through a dedicated and talented new hire.”

Mr. Pollock, along with a committee made up of board members and other Land Trust partners, will carefully vet qualified applicants. The process is likely to take up to five months during which time Mr. Pollock will continue to function in the role.
