The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects who used stolen credit card information to rack up more than $200 in fraudulent charges. The pair were recorded by store surveillance at one of the locations where they made fraudulent charges.
The crime was reported to police after a Dalton resident noticed that his credit card account had been used to make a series of charges on Aug. 16. The card was used at six locations along Walnut Avenue: the East Walnut Avenue Walmart, Dollar Tree, the Red Box outside of the Walgreen’s, the Mapco at Riverbend Road, the Walmart Neighborhood Market, and Steak and Shake. The victim still had all of his physical credit cards from the account in his possession and was unsure how his account was compromised. Police were able to retrieve surveillance video of two suspects using the stolen credit card.
The suspects are a black man and a black woman. The man wore a camouflage ball cap with a black shirt and pants and appears to have braided hair. The woman wore a white shirt with a design of lips and a tongue similar to the Rolling Stones logo on the front and had a long blonde ponytail sticking out of a blue ball cap. The pair were driving a newer model silver Ford Fusion.
Anyone who recognizes these suspects is asked to contact Detective Brian Shirley at 706 278-9085, extension 9189.
