Sabrena Smedley To Lead County Commission In Coming Year; Randy Fairbanks Is Vice Chairman

Sabrena Smedley was chosen by her fellow County Commission members on Wednesday to lead the panel for the coming year.

The vote was 8-1 with Commissioner Tim Boyd, who had also eyed the post, passing.

Among those choosing Ms. Smedley were new commission members Katherlyn Geter, Chip Baker and David Sharpe.

Randy Fairbanks, who was chairman previously, was selected as vice chairman in a contest with Greg Martin. 

Commissioner Martin got the support of Commissioner Boyd, but others backed Commissioner Fairbanks.
