Jeffrey L. Austin, 65, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 5, 2022.

Mr. Austin was born in Montgomery, Al, on Aug. 2, 1956, the son of the late Wills Gerald Austin and Mildred Warren Austin. He will be remembered most for his love of and commitment to his family. Mr. Austin was a lifelong Alabama fan and enjoyed playing tennis. The qualities that stand out to those who knew him were his humble heart and his desire to help others less fortunate around him. Once he became involved in his daughter’s non-profit organization, Project 541, he dedicated himself to the care and nurturing of the children in Honduras, developing a “grandfatherly” relationship with each of them, especially Esteven.

Mr. Austin is survived by his wife, Brenda Kirk Austin; two daughters, Kendall and Kayla Austin; a brother, Warren Austin (Alisa); two nieces, Brittany Austin and Aimee Briggs; and a nephew, Ben Austin (Shawna).

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 11, at 2 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Chattanooga, with Rev. David Hall officiating.

The family respectfully requests everyone to wear a mask and to practice social distancing while in the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made to Project 541, the non-profit he so cherished. Visit  www.project541.org to donate.

Visit the online obituary at www.heritagechattanooga.com to post tributes and share memories.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Chapel.
