Crabtree Farms Plant Sale, Sculpture In The Sky Set This Weekend

  • Thursday, April 18, 2024

Two annual springtime events will be taking place this weekend in Chattanooga.

Crabtree Farms Plant Sale will be on Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day. On Friday and Sunday, only plants will be for sale, but on Saturday, there will also be a spring festival, with local arts and craft vendors, live music, kids’ activities, food trucks and beer with the approval of a temporary beer license for this special event.

Customers will be I’d for age and be given wrist bands before being  served beer. The beer will be from Hutton Smith Brewing Co. Melanie Kraustrunk, owner of the business,  will be in charge of running the beer sales.

Crabtree Farms is located at 1,000 E. 30th St. The rain date is April 21.

Organizers for Sculpture in the Sky, the free event that is held each year at Sculpture Fields at Montague Park, 1800 Polk St., are hoping for a windy day on Saturday for the events that involve flying huge kites. This is the sixth year that it has been held, with  exhibitions, competitions and races. There will also  be an area where people can fly their own kites, a DJ playing music all day and food and beverages for sale. A beer tent will be selling beer from Odd Story Brewing, where IDs will be checked by ABC certified servers who will give wrist bands after age is verified.

The Tennessee River Gorge Trust will hold its annual fundraiser, “Another Gorgeous Evening,” on Thursday evening, May 2, from 5-9 p.m. Associate Director of the Trust Alisha Hixson told the beer board members that this is “Chattanooga’s best outdoor cocktail party.”

The party will be at the Tennessee River Place, 3104 Scenic Waters Lane and is a ticketed event that will include an art show with works from local artists and will be catered by Black Tie Events,  whose servers are licensed to serve beer  and cocktails.
