Premier Jazz Orchestra To Perform At Lee April 18

Premier Jazz Orchestra, a local professional jazz band including several members of the Lee community, will perform on Thursday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lee University Conn Center.  

Along with other Cleveland community members, the jazz band includes School of Music faculty
Dr. Barkey Bryant, Dr. Doug Warner, Alan Wyatt, and Jim Baldree, along with Lee alumni Stephen Bearden and Patrick Keeling.

The group will perform pieces such as Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon,” Michael Bublé’s “It Had Better Be Tonight,” Mark Taylor’s arrangement of “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” and Oliver Nelson’s “Stolen Moments.”  

“We are excited to have the Premier Jazz Orchestra on campus at Lee University,” said Dr. Jesse McConnell, director of music events. “This concert is a wonderful opportunity to hear one of the top musical ensembles in the region.”  

Based in Chattanooga, Premier Jazz Orchestra is a music ensemble that features an exciting mix of jazz standards and modern flair. The ensemble comprises top-tier musicians with decades of experience and three generations of band leaders.  

This concert is free, nonticketed, and open to the public. A livestream will be available at leeu.live.
