Don Earl Adair, of Hixson, Tennessee, was born on September 29, 1943, to Margaret Adair. He was the youngest of five. He passed away on April 30, 2024.

Don graduated from City High School and worked for Hubbuch Glass Company before Delta Air Lines, where he retired after more than 30 years of service.

He assisted in developing and was an active leader in Tyner Youth League. He always enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors, most notably hunting and yard work. He was a proud Lifetime Member of the Highland Sportsman and NRA, as well as H&W Deer Camp (Washington, Arkansas) for over 50 years. He is the original Vol for Life, having attended his first Tennessee football game at the age of 12.

Most recently he has been involved with the Hamilton County Juvenile Court as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) where he investigated cases, reported and made recommendations to the judge.

He was also a 20-year member of the River City Parrothead Club, the local Jimmy Buffet fan club whose motto is Party with a Purpose. This group is active in several community service events with the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, Lana’s Love Foundation, Wreaths Across Chattanooga and other local charity activities.

Don loved to travel and never met a stranger. He was generous with his time and vast skill set and was always ready to help anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his mother, his sisters Helen Hardeman and Jane Adair-Zagona, and his brother George Adair, Jr. He is survived by his wife Brenda Underwood, his children Don Adair, Jr. and Mandi (Chad) Norman, grandchildren Jed, Izzy and Parker Norman, sister Jean Adair, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 5, at First Baptist Church, 401 Gateway Ave. at 5 p.m.
