Raymond Albert “Ray” Feher passed away at home, surrounded by family, on May 4, 2024, at the age of 88.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Feher, brother, Frank Feher (Betty), sister, Ann Hobson (Carl), and son, Mike Feher (Candy).

He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years Joyce Feher, sons Butch (Susan), Jim (Sandra), seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born at home on a truck farm in Montrose, Mi., on March 12, 1936, Ray would soon meet his true lifelong partner and wife, Joyce in the first grade. Following high school graduation and marriage, Ray went on to earn his bachelor's and master’s degrees in Mathematics from Central Michigan University where he played catcher for the baseball team. For the next 20 years, he would teach advanced math and coach basketball and baseball in Fennville and Alpena, Mi. After a wonderful coaching and teaching career, he went into private business, eventually creating a thriving family business with his three sons.

He took great pride in hard work, education, and most importantly his family. Known affectionately to his many grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Grandpa,” the avid golfer, gardener, and fly fisherman could usually be found in a gym, a golf course, or on a ballfield supporting one of their many endeavors. Ray also loved being a member of Signal Crest United Methodist Church where he was a part of the Sunday school class, the Interpreters and serving on the board of Chambliss Children’s Home.

His family would especially like to thank Gentiva Hospice of Cleveland. His compassionate nurses, Danielle and Marissa were a blessing to all.

Family will hold a private memorial event in his honor.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chambliss Children’s Home.
