The Hixson High School Class of 1974, held their 50 year reunion over the weekend. Friday
night classmates gathered at Charlie’s Restaurant and Lounge. On Saturday they celebrated
with a BBQ at Camp Columbus.
Over 100 classmates and two former teachers, Dixie McClintock and Janet French Elliott, attended the reunion, some of which traveled more than 1,000 miles for the once in a lifetime reunion. National and local Hall of Fame members, entertainment award winners and highly decorated veterans were among those in attendance.
Friendships were renewed and new ones made, as many had not seen each other since 1974.
The reunion committee (Therese Burke Bowman, Dolores Hopkins, Herschel Layne, Susan Grabert Leonard-Hall and Sabrina Thompson Ooten) worked tirelessly to make the event possible.
