The Elite 18: Cleveland Country Club Voted Area’s Best No. 10 Hole

The Cleveland Country Club has a long and storied history in the annals of Tennessee golf. Founded in 1924, the club has been the site of a number of Tennessee Golf Association and Tennessee PGA Section state championships and hosted NCAA Division II Regional tournaments. It was also used during the stroke play qualifying for the 1991 U.S. Amateur hosted by The Honors Course. Maggie Scott, the most decorated women’s golfer in TGA history with 13 individual state titles, also hails from Cleveland Country Club. Mocs Draw 15 Seeded Florida State In NCAA Softball Regionals; Lady Vols Get #3 National Seed

The Chattanooga Mocs shot 303 over the final 18 holes of the National Golf Invitational to finish eighth. The ladies totaled 904 over three days at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes in suburban Phoenix. Violeta Fernandez-Tagle led the group over the final 18 with 74. That was one better than Kera Healey’s 75. The Soddy Daisy Trojans and the Signal Mountain Eagles have had some real battles on the baseball field in recent years, but Sunday’s game at Signal Mountain for the region championship wasn’t one of them.
