On this Fourth of July 2009, the Atlanta Braves were in the nation's capitol where they were trying for a sixth straight win in a game against Washington. After beating the Nationals Friday, 9-8, Saturday the Braves bullpen blew a 3-1 lead as Atlanta lost, 5-3. Tommy Hanson (4-0) gave up one run over seven innings; he was not the pitcher of record.
