Reeves, Christine Evangelist Coonrod

Christine Evangelist Coonrod Reeves, 62, died on December 22, 2012 at Chattanooga of Hospice Center.   

She was employed at Willwear Hosiery and Seaboard Farms.  She was a member of New Enon Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Reeves; father, George Coonrod; brothers, Richard, David and Thomas Coonrod.

Survivors include her children, Vanessa, Delores and Chappell Reeves; grandchildren, Darchelle, Reeves, Roderick Young, Taja Reeves and Chappell Reeves; great-grandchildren, Yaquay, Jertavious, JaNiyah Reeves; mother, Mamie R. Hemphill Coonrod; brothers, Leonard Hemphill, Joe, Vongoree, Tonzolone Coonrod; sisters, Rhonda Fears; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews; best friend and caregiver, Willene Hudgins.  

Special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3, at noon at New Enon Baptist Church with Pastor Anthony Bullock officiating.  Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon and the family will receive friends from 6–7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.

Rogers, 20, Shot Twice While Standing On His Porch

A 20-year-old man was shot twice while standing on his porch on Monday night. At approximately 8:44 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Walker Street.
