Rev. C. Henry Preston, 100, of Chattanooga, died on Monday, January 28, 2013. 

He was born in Dublin, Tx., to Charles and Stacey Preston.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Katherine F. Preston, one brother and six sisters.

Brother Henry had been in the ministry for over 75 years. He was a graduate of Carson Newman College and Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary.  He was the pastor of churches in Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee.  Brother Preston was twice the pastor of East Ridge Baptist Church for a total ministry there of 37 years until he retired in 1978.  He was an active member of Ridgedale Baptist Church where he was associate teacher in the Adult One Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his two sons, Charles (Sherry) Preston of Harrison, and Tommy (Jana) Preston of Ooltewah; one daughter, Mrs. Carol (Wayne) MacKintosh of Dandridge, Tn.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Preston of Birmingham, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at Ridgedale Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Owens, Reverend Larry Williams and Reverend Chris Gaither officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult One Sunday School Class and the Hamilton County Baptist Ministerial Association.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 404 South Moore Road, and from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday at the church.

Kelley, Ernestine

Ernestine Kelley died on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 91. She was born Sara Ernestine Nichols on March 3, 1923, in Petersburg, Tn.
