Region Soccer Semfinals Set For Tuesday

Several area prep girls soccer teams will be in action on Tuesday in the region semfinals hosted by each district champion.

In Class A/AA, Notre Dame and East Ridge will host games.

In Class AAA, McMinn County will host. 

Winners of the region semifinals will advance to the finals on Thursday.  Both region winners and runner up will advanced to sectional play next Saturday.  Only sectional winners will advance to the state tournament which will be played in Mufreesboro.

Lookouts Open Series In Jackson With 3-2 Win.

JACKSON, TENN. (APRIL 19, 2014) - The Generals (9-7) had opened each of their first three series' with a win, but the Chattanooga Lookouts (6-10) spoiled that streak Saturday, with a 3-2 win over Jackson. Isaac Pacheco, Jenn Stocks Win Chickamauga Chase 15K

The third time was the charm for 19-year-old Isaac Pacheco at the Chickamauga Chase. Pacheco had finished third for the last two years in this popular 15K race that’s been held at Chickamauga Battlefield for the past 46 years, but he was more than ready as he captured first place in the challenging 9.3-mile race with a time of 52 minutes, 36 seconds. Man Shot On Cannon Avenue Early Saturday Morning

A man was shot early Saturday morning on Cannon Avenue. At approximately 5:30 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to 2300 Cannon Ave. for shots fired.  Shortly after receiving the call, officers learned that a victim arrived at a local hospital.  The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg and is undergoing treatment. Child Playing With Cigarette Lighter Starts $25,000 Mobile Home Fire

A child playing with a cigarette lighter started a mobile home fire on Saturday morning. At 9 a.m., the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire at 6561 Cassie Lane. It took four fire companies about 10 minutes to get the fire under control. The fire was contained to one bedroom. No injuries were reported. Damage to the home is around $25,000. (click for more)
