Georgia Vehicle Owners Subject To New Tax; Seminar Set Tuesday At Colonnade

A new Georgia law effective March 1 exempts Georgia car buyers from sales tax but makes vehicle owners subject to a new Title Ad Valorem Tax payable at the time of title application, officials said.

Tax commissioners who administer vehicle title and tag registrations in Georgia counties will be holding informal training with a question and answer session at the Colonnade at 264 Catoosa Circle, Ringgold, next Tuesday.

The session will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.

Tennessee motor vehicle dealers and financial institution representatives are invited to attend. Driving directions can be obtained at www.colonnadecenter.org.
