Parker, Vickie Crosswhite (Dalton)

Vickie Crosswhite Parker, 61, of Dalton, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2012 at Hamilton Medical Center. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Calvin Crosswhite; and her husband, James Parker. 

Vickie loved to make baby items with her knitting and crochet. She also loved to spend time with all the children in her family. 

Vickie is survived by her mother, Mary Hester of Lafayette; daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Steven Staten of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Denise and Richard Asher of Lafayette and Rita and Eddie Stanfield of Chickamauga; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pete and Sabrina Crosswhite and Todd and Candie Crosswhite all of Lafayette; and several step-brothers, step-sister, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30 in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Asher officiating. Burial will follow in the Lafayette City Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday from 5-9 p.m. 

Love funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave., Dalton (across from Hamilton Medical Center) is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley L. Kocher, 80, of Rocky Face, Georgia, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Kocher. James Kelly Ensor, Sr., 89, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, died on July 29, 2015. Kelly was born on Aug. 19, 1925 in Cookeville, Tn., to the late James Leslie and Mamie Demarias Ensor. Ruling States That City Of Cleveland Is Entitled To Liquor By The Drink Funds

The city of Cleveland is entitled to keep all funds collected since city voters approved “liquor by the drink” in the Nov. 5, 2002 election. Crash On Chattanooga Avenue Causes Power Outage

A single-car accident in Dalton damaged a power pole on Chattanooga Avenue in front of the Crown Mill Village apartments and has caused a power outage in the area.   Chattanooga Avenue was closed between Matilda Street and Judson Street while the Dalton Police Department investigated the crash and Dalton Utilities worked to replace the pole.
