Thomas Richard Sheppard, 44, has been arrested for aggravated criminal trespass.

East Ridge police were dispatched to 6915 Glen Errol Way on Thursday, at approximately 8:22 p.m., on a burglary in progress. Responding officers arrived in four minutes.

On arrival, police took Sheppard into custody without incident.

During the investigation, it was determined that Sheppard at one time lived at the residence before being evicted. The residence was vacant at the time of the burglary.

Sheppard's initial court date is Tuesday, at 5 p.m.
