Man Charged With Aggravated Criminal Trespass After Being Held At Gun Point By Property Owners

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Thomas Richard Sheppard, 44, has been arrested for aggravated criminal trespass.

East Ridge police were dispatched to 6915 Glen Errol Way on Thursday, at approximately 8:22 p.m., on a burglary in progress. Responding officers arrived in four minutes.

Officers located the property managers holding the suspect, Sheppard, at gun point. A witness had telephoned the property managers, Donna and Raymond Belvin, after observing the suspect breaking into the residence through a rear window. The Belvins arrived and located Sheppard in the residence and phoned police.

On arrival, police took Sheppard into custody without incident.

During the investigation, it was determined that Sheppard at one time lived at the residence before being evicted. The residence was vacant at the time of the burglary.

Sheppard's initial court date is Tuesday, at 5 p.m.

Monroe Stadium to secure the school’s third unbeaten ... (click for more)
